Kinesiotape is a revolutionary elastic tape that was invented by Japanese chiropractor Dr Kenzo Kase in the early 1970s. Today, this tape is achieving its greatest acceptance from many of the worlds best known sportsman such as Lance Amstrong who endorsed this product in his book “Every Second Counts”.
Kinesiotape is an elastic , lightweight. water resistant adhesive tape which is purported to mimic the properties of the skin. It comes in several colours such as black, blue, pink and beige and can be worn for 3-5 days.
The main benefits of kinesiotape are thought to be due to the ability of the tape to lift the skin thus improving the fluid movement of the soft tissue, fascia, circulatatory, nervous and lymphatic system below the injured site.
At Bodymotion, Kinesiotape can be used on its own or as part of a package of care. It can be utilised for a wide variety of conditions due to its ability to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, relax the muscles, enhance performance and facilitate rehabilitation while supporting muscles in movement. We use Rocktape here at Bodymotion.
