Skillset: Chiropractor, Medical Acupuncture, Biomechanics
Ben Glenister qualified as a Doctor of Chiropractic after completing a master’s degree at The University of Surrey. He had previously graduated with an honours degree in Health and Exercise Science.
After graduating, Ben was one of the few students asked to stay on at the University of Surrey Chiropractic Clinic to assist students in their adjusting techniques and patient management.
During the next four years, Ben worked at The Ascot Chiropractic Clinic where he successfully treated a variety of patients including elite sportspeople such as rugby players and PGA golfers. He also became one of the few chiropractors to work within the NHS and was also invited to sit on the National Back Pain Collaborative Steering Group for the East Berkshire region.
In 2006, with his business partner Emma Daniells, Ben founded Bodymotion, a city based practice committed to working with patients to achieve their individual health goals. He understands the importance of teamwork within healthcare and regularly receives referrals from allied healthcare professionals such as orthopaedic consultants, neurosurgeons, GPs, personal trainers and sports coaches.
Ben has a very keen interest in postural correction, sports injuries, biomechanics and rehabilitation. He has also recently undertaken a one-year, full-time, postgraduate Diploma in Biomechanics at Roehampton University. He studied under Professor Raymond Lee, an internationally renowned spinal biomechanist. This has enabled him to develop an in depth knowledge of the forces involved in spinal loading and an increased understanding of the mechanism of common spinal complaints. This allows for specific management advice to be given, regarding reducing the risk of future recurrence, in addition to treatment.
